Chris Crawford beyond Interactive Storytelling

Just a thought loosely related to this discussion: It's interesting to note that Chris Crawford, apart from Interactive Storytelling, was since early times an advocate for Serious Games and games about interpersonal relationships - genres receiving increasing attention nowadays. It would be fair to say that games like Balance of Power, and Gossip were, in a way, ideological predecessors of games such as, for instance, A Force More Powerful and SissyFight 2000.

Yup, thats why he's a Kage of interactive design.

Of course, now that he's actually implementing these points he made twenty years ago, is much more in his time than ahead of his time. And by that I mean its young folks like us who stand to make the bold theories of the next twenty years.

Sounds like quite a challenge to me, since I struggle just to "give my 2 cents" :)

I am really curious about how storytron will perform... not only in terms of design, but also market-wise. It will be the only product of its kind, and I'm not quite sure how this could affect its launch success...
